Persimmons are thought to symbolize transformation & wisdom…

The inspiration behind this design is the beautiful Persimmon tree, with its delicate branches and gorgeous fruit. This crescent shaped shawl / wrap features a combination of garter stitch, slip stitch textures and eyelets, to pay homage to the natural beauty of the Persimmon tree.

Finished off with a delicate picot bind off and optional tassels or pom-poms to adorn the ends, Persimmon Branch is and engaging and enjoyable knit that can be worn in a variety of ways.

Needles & Notions

  • US 7 / 4.5 mm, 32” / 81 cm circular needle or size needed for gauge (main needle)

  • US 8 / 5 mm, 32” / 81 cm (or longer) circular needle, or one size larger than main needle

  • Removeable marker to denote RS of work

  • Darning needle to weave in ends

  • Blocking mat and pins

16 sts / 36 rows per 4” worked flat in garter stitch on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles, post blocking

Pattern Construction 
Persimmon Branch is a top-down construction, crescent shaped shawl. This design begins with a modified garter tab cast on and increases are worked on all RS rows.
